HUMANITARIAN CENTRE "AQUARENA"

From the first day of military aggression against Ukraine, residents of Kharkiv and Kharkiv region have been under daily attacks from the Russian army. As a result of hostilities, thousands of civilians were wounded and killed, many civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed, and logistical connections were broken. The humanitarian situation in the Kharkiv region is deteriorating every day.

In order to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in Kharkiv and the region, the "Aquarena" Humanitarian Centre was established upon the initiative and direct participation of the Vitaliy Danilov Fund, to help Kharkiv residents who remained in Kharkiv and are going through these difficult times in their hometown. The humanitarian centre is located in the building of the well-known in Kharkiv Olympic swimming pool "Aquarena", which ceased its work during the war. The Humanitarian Centre has become a place for collecting, storing, distributing and issuing humanitarian aid, which is delivered to Kharkiv from different parts of Ukraine and abroad.

The Vitaliy Danilov Fund (Kharkiv) in cooperation with the “Batkivshchyna” Humanitarian Aid Centre (Kyiv) became the main donors to the “Aquarena” Humanitarian Centre. In order to provide the assistance to people, the Fund works with volunteers, philanthropists, Ukrainian and international organisations.

The team of the Vitaliy Danilov Fund has more than 35 volunteers. These are activists who accept requests for assistance, load, pack, deliver humanitarian goods to Kharkiv, make address delivery and many other important jobs.

Among the recipients of humanitarian aid, the majority are the most socially vulnerable categories of the population - large families, the elderly or disabled people, the poor and all those who find themselves in a difficult situation due to the circumstances. The provision of humanitarian aid is carried out by targeted delivery or issuance of individual and collective sets of humanitarian aid in places of residence or temporary stay in the shelters of residents of Kharkiv and the region. People have the opportunity to receive from the Fund: food, water, medicine, adult and children's hygiene products and child nutrition. For the safety of citizens and to prevent large crowds from gathering in one place during hostilities, humanitarian aid is not delivered directly to the "Aquarena" building, but is delivered by mobile teams of volunteers to distribution points.

To receive humanitarian aid, it is necessary to leave an individual or collective request on the website of the Humanitarian Centre "Aquarena", indicating your needs and choosing the most convenient place of delivery. The site will start working in the regular mode (for application requests) - in the coming days.
